House rules

The following regulations contain the main house rules for guests of Hotel Mitland, Restaurant Vlonders, Mitland Bowling & Mitland Meetings. By entering our premises, you agree to the house rules below.

1. General rules

  • Always follow the instructions of staff related to house rules. Complaints can be reported to management.
  • Respect other guests and staff. Insults, discrimination, or intimidating behavior (through words, gestures, or actions) are prohibited.
  • A valid ID must be presented at check-in. Check-in is possible from 18 years old.
  • Alcohol is not served to guests under 18 years old. Staff may ask for ID for verification.
  • Your privacy is respected, but staff may enter your room if there is suspicion of house rule violations or emergencies.
  • Visitors in the room must be reported to the reception and are allowed until 10:00 PM. Additional guests must be registered; additional costs may apply.
  • Camera surveillance is present. Recordings may be used to maintain order and safety, and if necessary by authorities.
  • Hotel Mitland is not responsible for loss or theft of property.
  • The management or staff are not liable for injury or material/immaterial damage.
  • In case of house rule violations, the hotel may terminate your stay and ask you to leave. A full ban may be imposed.
  • A deposit of €50 applies to every reservation. Ask for the conditions at the reception.
  • The Uniform Conditions for the Hotel and Catering Industry (UVH) apply to all deliveries. Download them on the website of Koninklijke Horeca Nederland.
  • Extending your stay is only possible in consultation and subject to availability. Additional costs may vary per room and night. In case of late check-out, the hotel reserves the right to pack belongings. The hotel is not responsible for loss or damage in this case.
  • The use of facilities is entirely at your own risk.

2. Payment conditions

  • Payments exclusively in euros (EUR).
  • Payment options:
    • SEPA transfer (within EU): no additional bank charges.
    • International transfers: OUR payment instruction, all bank charges borne by the sender.
    • Payment link (iDEAL, credit card, online methods): transaction costs borne by the sender, included in the final invoice.
  • Always mention the reservation or invoice number when paying.
  • If the full amount is not received due to bank or transaction costs, the difference may be charged upon arrival or final invoice.

3. Safety

  • Stay calm in case of fire and report it to the reception or press the nearest fire alarm.
  • Leave the building immediately in case of a general fire alarm.
  • Never use the elevators in case of fire.
  • Loosening or tampering with smoke detectors is dangerous and prohibited.
  • Housekeeping checks every hotel room every two days.
  • In case of drugs, weapons, or other illegal activities, the hotel may involve police or government authorities.

4. Prohibited actions

It is not allowed to:

  • Smoke in the room (only allowed in designated outdoor locations). Violation: €130 cleaning costs + fire brigade costs of €275 if the fire alarm goes off.
  • Cover or disable smoke detectors.
  • Use or trade (soft/hard) drugs. In case of violation, you must leave the hotel immediately, without refund of reservation or deposit.
  • Use open fire (candles, incense, etc.). Fire alarm and costs may be charged.
  • Bring pets to the restaurant.
  • Spread confetti or severely pollute the room (€130 cleaning costs).
  • Use emergency exits as normal entrances and exits.
  • Take or damage hotel property. Repair or replacement costs are at your expense.
  • Rent a room without being present yourself.
  • Cause nuisance (loud music, noise, or unruly behavior).
  • Stay with more people in the room than allowed.
  • Engage in sexual activities with visitors in the room.
  • Extend the stay independently without consultation. Costs for late check-out: €17 per hour.
  • Stay overnight in vehicles on the premises.
  • Charge electric bicycles in the room (use the special charging stations).
  • Misuse fire alarms or extinguishing equipment.
  • Wear nightwear, swimwear, or slippers in public areas (except wellness).
  • Wear a bare upper body or swimwear in the restaurant/bar.
  • Walk outside the wellness area without footwear.
  • Cause noise disturbance between 10:00 PM and 7:00 AM.
  • Use personal sound systems without written permission.

5. Use of Smart TV and streaming services

  • Log in with your own account for services like Netflix and log out upon check-out. Hotel Mitland is not liable for misuse of remaining accounts.
  • Be mindful of volume and content, especially between 10:00 PM and 7:00 AM. Pornography or violent content is not allowed in view of others.
  • Streaming should not cause disturbance.
  • Changes to settings, installation of software, or connecting external devices without permission is prohibited.
  • Hack or jailbreak techniques on TV or network are prohibited.
  • Damage or misuse may result in costs for repair or replacement.
