08/01/2026Throughout the month of August, Hotel Mitland is dedicated to the Goodnight Kiss campaign by Ronald McDonald House Utrecht. With this campaign, we want to draw attention to the important work they do and raise as many donations as possible. Because every family deserves to be close together when it matters most.
What is the Ronald McDonald House Utrecht?
When a child is in hospital, a family’s life changes overnight. The Ronald McDonald House Utrecht offers parents, brothers and sisters a place to stay close to their sick child. This means they do not have to travel long distances every day and can be with their child at any time of the day or night.
Each family has its own bedroom. There are also shared living rooms, a kitchen and a garden where parents can briefly escape the hectic pace of the hospital. A place to catch their breath, regain energy and then be fully there for their child again.
The Ronald McDonald House Utrecht is one of the 11 Ronald McDonald Houses in the Netherlands and operates entirely without government subsidies. Thanks to volunteers, companies, sponsors and donors, families can stay here when they need it most.
What is the Goodnight Kiss campaign?
Parents pay a personal contribution of € 15 per night, but this does not come close to covering the costs of a stay. To keep a room available, an additional € 75 in sponsorship money per night is needed.
With every € 75 raised, one extra overnight stay for a family is made possible. That means:
- One night close to their sick child.
- One bedtime story.
- One extra hug.
- And above all: one goodnight kiss.
A small gesture can make a world of difference to a family.
What is Hotel Mitland doing?
Throughout the entire month of August, we are drawing attention to this special campaign in our hotel.
In our lobby, we are setting up a special Goodnight Kiss corner where you can find more information about the Ronald McDonald House Utrecht and donate easily. You will also come across the campaign at our reception, in the brasserie, at Mitland Bowling and in our hotel rooms.
In addition to making a donation, it is also possible to purchase a small or large Ronald McDonald rabbit when booking or at reception. The full proceeds from these cuddly toys go directly to the Ronald McDonald House Utrecht.
