Hotel Mitland reopens 52 fully renovated hotel rooms as of April 1
04/01/2026Hotel Mitland opens 52 fully renovated hotel rooms in building A, the oldest part of the hotel, on April 1, 2026. After a renovation of several months, the building is completely renewed, with attention to comfort, sustainability, and contemporary guest experience.

On the same day, the terrace by the water will also reopen. Thus, April 1 marks not only the reopening of the renovated rooms for Hotel Mitland but also the start of the terrace season.
The reopening will be festively celebrated on April 1 with a gathering in the hotel lobby for invited guests. Guests staying in the renovated rooms will also be surprised with a welcome gift.
Sustainable and future-oriented
The renovation has focused explicitly on sustainability and energy efficiency. The building is heated with heat pumps instead of gas and is equipped with underfloor heating and air heating. Thanks to new plastic frames with triple glazing and improved insulation, energy consumption has been significantly reduced.
Additionally, various smart solutions have been applied, such as a hot water recirculation system, water-saving facilities, solar panels, and LED lighting throughout the building.
Contemporary design and optimal comfort
The new rooms are decorated in a modern hotel chic style, with warm, neutral tones and subtle metallic accents. Functionality and experience go hand in hand, with custom solutions and integrated lighting that is both practical and atmospheric.
“In the world of hospitality, it's long been about more than just a bed and a closet,” says Wim Plijnaar, one of the directors of Hotel Mitland. “The hotel room has become a destination in itself, where comfort, atmosphere, and experience come together.”
More than 100 years of hospitality
With this expansion, Hotel Mitland builds on a rich history dating back to 1921, when it started as a tennis court with a tea garden. In the decades that followed, Mitland grew into a versatile hospitality location, including a bowling center, restaurant, and hotel rooms.
Today, Hotel Mitland has 146 hotel rooms, 14 meeting rooms, a restaurant with a terrace, and various leisure facilities.
Looking to the future
“With this renovation, we are taking an important step in the further development of Hotel Mitland,” says Plijnaar. “We continue to invest in quality and sustainability so that we can offer our guests a stay that meets their expectations in the future.”
