What rules apply for walking my dog?

When walking your dog, you must adhere to a few rules.

  • For forest and nature areas, a leash requirement generally applies. Often there are some areas indicated where dogs are allowed to run free.
  • Your dog may only run free in a dog play area
  • Your dog is not allowed on children's playgrounds, in sandboxes, on play lawns, cemeteries, and in Julianapark
  • You must clean up your dog's waste. If you do not, you may receive a fine

Does this also apply to guide or assistance dogs?

No, guide or assistance dogs (in training) do not need to be leashed. These dogs are also allowed in parks where 'ordinary' dogs are not allowed.
