50 years of service
Bert, Frank, and Rob Plijnaar have all been associated with Hotel Mitland for about 50 years, and their youngest brother Wim for 45 years. The four brothers represent the 3rd generation of Plijnaars leading Mitland. Their grandfather started the company 50 years before the three brothers took over. The 4th generation of the Plijnaar family has also been active in the company for some time now: Jort and Danielle for 11 years and Mats for 9 years.
2,700 children
Our bowling alley is a popular destination for birthday parties. Last year, 2,700 children celebrated a birthday at the bowling alley. Did you know that special packages are available for children's parties? Including, for example, an appropriate gift for the birthday child, a bowling certificate, and a feast.
1997 online
Hotel Mitland has had its own website since 1997. Right from the online start, the importance of good search engine visibility was recognized. With about 150,000 visitors per year, the site was an immediate success.

The most experienced employee at Mitland, working in administration, is 77 years old. The youngest employee, working in service, is 15 years old.
400 chargers
What do you think is most often forgotten by guests when leaving their room? About 400 chargers were left behind last year. A close second: 330 forgotten clothing items. So, before you check out, make sure to check if your charger is still plugged in. And is that beautiful blouse you wore last night perhaps still hanging in the closet?

Our artisanal hamburger is the absolute bestseller on the menu. In the first nine months of this year, 4,205 DOMburgers were ordered in the restaurant, of which 761 were vegetarian.
1994 the porter
Have you noticed the sculpture next to the hotel entrance that has been watching over the hotel since 1994? It is a sculpture by Willem Kind titled The Porter. Kind creates figures and objects from stainless steel. Another work by the sculptor stands in Drenthe along the N34: the Head of the Hondsrug, a striking image of a large head.
50 years of bowling
Mitland Bowling is the oldest bowling alley in Utrecht. The bowling opened its doors in 1973.
