Holland Design Suite

Holland Design Suite with bed in the shape of clogs and tulip wallpaper

In the Holland Design Suite, a foreign tourist visiting one country after another will know within seconds of waking up in room 359 that they are in the Netherlands. In front of them, they see the noses of two enormous yellow clogs that make up their bed, and if they look to the right, they will perceive a wall with red and yellow tulips against a backdrop of typically Dutch clouds.

The tourist is in the Holland Design Suite, one of the four themed rooms of Hotel Mitland. Everything in this spacious room exudes the Netherlands. The ceiling looks like a cloudless sky, the carpet is grass green, one wall is entirely taken up by a photo of the windmills of Kinderdijk, and there is an almost man-sized wooden windmill in the room. To further eliminate any doubt about the travel destination, a small windmill has been placed on the enormous jacuzzi (of course covered with tulips): 'I love Holland'. The double sink is made of Delft Blue pottery, and the placemats on the coffee trolley feature pictures of typically Dutch cows. But alongside this consistently implemented theme approach, the room is also simply well-equipped. A large TV opposite the bed, a small desk as a practical workspace with a smaller TV above it, a sitting area with two Tulpi chairs, and a balcony with, like every themed room in Hotel Mitland, a view of greenery and water.
