Tulips in Keukenhof Holland
Keukenhof, also known as the Garden of Europe, is the world's largest flower garden. It is situated in Lisse, the Netherlands. Approximately 7 million flower bulbs are planted annually in the park, which covers an area of 32 hectares. Keukenhof is located in South Holland in the small town of Lisse, 63 km from Utrecht. It is located in an area called the "Dune and Bulb Region" (Duin- en Bollenstreek).
Keukenhof is open from 20 maart t/m 18 mei 2014. The best time to view the tulips is around mid-April, depending on the weather. An alternative visit is the Tulip route Noordoostpolder (93 km from Utrecht). This signed route takes you past spectacular sights and ensures you an amazing display. During the Tulip Festival you can tour the tulip field area by car, bicycle or foot. You can pick your very own bouquet of tulips in a special tulip field, or visit the tulip show garden with more than 2000 different varieties.
